About Us

Edie Tompkins founded the Groton Community Christmas Choir in 1973. She led the choir from its beginning as it grew year over year. Generations of singers graduated from the Children's Choir to the Adult Choir and families made singing together an annual tradition. Our concerts have always been free to the public as "Our Christmas Gift to You."

Edie directed the choir every year through 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic forced our first ever cancellation in 2020. By the time we could resume the choir, Edie was unable to continue directing for health reasons.

We resumed concerts in 2023 with Tim Goliger as our new director. Tim is a highly skilled director and, as a music teacher himself, is excellent with kids.

We are excited to get back in the rhythm of things this year - and we hope you'll be a part of our 2024 concerts, as a singer, volunteer, or audience member!
